DIRECTIONS TO BLACKWOOD
Blackwood Golf Course is located west of Pottstown, PA. From Route 100 (and Route 422) at Coventry Mall, take Route 724 West for approx. five (5) miles. Turn left onto Red Corner road (before 724 makes a 90 degree right turn). You’ll approach driving range (on left) and parking for the course is further up (on left). For more info on the course or detailed directions, go to www.blackwoodgolf.com or call them at 610-385-6200.

PRACTICE RANGE – At Least 1 Hour Prior to Tee-off Time (optional)
A driving range is available on your left hand side as you approach Blackwood Golf Course (you need to drive from there to the pro-shop – they don’t permit you to drive a golf cart down). If you plan to hit some practice balls (at your expense) before the tourney, you should aim to get to the range an hour before your tee-time.

PICK-UP CART AT PRO SHOP – At Least 20 minutes Prior to Tee-off Time
Just tell the pro shop that you are with “the outing” and give them your name; they’ll issue you a cart. Cart seating assignments are not set, you can ride with anyone in your foursome. Blackwood does have a bar, and you can usually take a couple beers (no big coolers) onto the course.

SIGN-IN WITH JOHN SCOTT AT PRACTICE GREEN
You will need to sign a release and fork over any unpaid outing fees.

BIRDIES FOR BUCKS COLLECTION (optional – $10 cash required)
Participation in “Birdies for Bucks” requires your additional $10 contribution to CA$H Pool. If you score a birdie (or eagle) on any hole, you will earn a share of the pool (maximum one share per golfer). The payout to each winner is usually in the $30 range. Participation is at your option; but you can’t win if you don’t “buck up”! Absolutely no gimmees on birdie putts!!

GROUP PICTURES
You will be photographed with your foursome just in case you somehow win and are enshrined into the Big Stogie Hall of Champions. Based on past photos, we recommend that you remove your hat for the picture, unless you want your entire face to be in a shadow.

SUPER PUTT
You will have 3 chances at sinking a long putt on the practice green. Make the putt and you’ll be rewarded with a cheap, but BIG, STOGIE to enjoy during your round. Ask around and you’ll find that these stogies have proven to be EXTREMELY LUCKY to those golfers who have been fortunate enough to win them… just witness Hank Grahn’s 1997 round where he birdied 2 of the first 3 holes after being the only player to make the Super Putt. A winning putt means more than a cheap cigar, or bragging rights around the practice green; hit that putt, light it up, and you are on your way to a career round!

For those who have played before, our format remains the same as in prior years. This is not a scramble! You will hit your ball for the entire round and your team score will be based on the Big Stogie™ Modified Best Ball Format which is explained in more detail below. We’ll see you back at the pavilion afterwards for food, beer, war stories, and prizes!
